A few weeks ago, Raheem became interested in a two-part photo shoot to produce promotional images. Promotional photography is often used in print materials, on websites, and on social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. For an entertainer, image is often just as—if not more—important than talent and skill. My company, DeanMark, works with entertainers of all kinds to develop digital media that becomes an integral part of their branding and marketing plans.

If you know anything about my taste in music, you know that The Foreign Exchange is one of my favorite duos. A most unlikely amalgamation of musical talent, this grammy-nominated team has been getting a high number of spins in my iTunes since '04. This music video shoot was for the lead single on their latest LP, Authenticity. The two-day, multi-location shoot was a great exercise in photojournalism. Zo! – This Could Be The Night Music Video Shoot

Zo! is one of my favorite producers. This music video shoot was for the leading single on his newest LP, SunStorm. I only had one prime lens in my bag, which limited some of my coverage. However, I got to do one of my favorite things: turn off the flash and crank up the ISO. Plus, there were plenty of interesting subjects in the building. The University of Pennsylvania’s 254th Commencement

Each May, thousands of excited graduates march into Franklin Field as thousands of others—proud family members and friends—look on from the stands. A grand stage is erected and is populated by esteemed faculty and trustees; thematic procession music glares from the PA system; and cameras of all kinds flash away. This year, one of those cameras belonged to me. As an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, commencement is always a special occasion. Very few planned events more emotional than a graduation. They are a photojournalist's dream.
